Terms of Use
1. Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using NameSense, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use NameSense. You must also follow laws that apply to your device, files, third-party services, and location.
2. License
Subject to these terms, NameSense operator Jiangtao Wu grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use NameSense on a compatible Mac that you own or control. Except as permitted by law or expressly allowed here, you may not rent, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, modify, distribute, or attempt to extract NameSense’s source code.
3. Your content and file permissions
You are responsible for files, filenames, and other content that you create, import, analyze, store, or rename with NameSense. NameSense does not take ownership of that content. You must have the rights needed to handle it, send it to an AI provider you choose, and rename it, and you are responsible for keeping backups of important material.
NameSense accesses only files and folders that you explicitly provide through the macOS file picker or by dragging them into the app. You can stop or revoke that access at any time; the files and folders are not part of a cloud service operated by the NameSense operator.
4. AI and third-party services
AI features are optional. You are responsible for providing a lawful, valid API key that you are authorized to use, choosing the provider, endpoint, and model, and following that provider’s terms, content policies, and pricing rules. Availability, output quality, retention, and charges for an AI service are controlled by that provider, and the NameSense operator makes no guarantee about third-party services.
5. NameSense Pro
NameSense Pro is a one-time in-app purchase offered through the Apple App Store to permanently unlock the applicable features. The free plan, 14-day local trial, and Pro features are described in the current in-app experience; the trial must be started by you, requires no payment, and does not renew automatically. Purchase, payment, taxes, refunds, restoration, and Family Sharing are handled under Apple’s applicable terms and processes.
6. Prohibited use
You may not use NameSense for unlawful activity, to infringe another person’s intellectual property or privacy, to distribute malware, to bypass system security, or to interfere with the normal operation of the app or related services. You may not use files or API credentials that you are not authorized to handle.
7. Updates and availability
The NameSense operator may provide updates, fixes, feature changes, or end support for certain system versions. NameSense is provided “as is” and “as available”; to the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. AI-generated content is assistance only, and you should review suggested names before applying them.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the NameSense operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use NameSense, lost files, incorrect renames, failed backups, third-party AI outages, or external content. This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Termination
You may stop using NameSense and delete it at any time. The license ends automatically if you materially breach these terms. After termination, stop using NameSense and delete copies under your control, except for backups retained as permitted by law.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the app, law, or our operations change. Continuing to use NameSense after an update means you accept the updated terms. We will update the effective date and explain material changes where appropriate.
11. Apple notice
These terms are between you and the NameSense operator, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for NameSense and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them after you accept them.
